AI Search (GEO) Audit

People increasingly ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity for recommendations, and Google now shows AI Overviews on many searches. This audit shows whether your business is being mentioned in those answers, how it’s described, and what to change if it isn’t.

You get a plain-English list of fixes in priority order, plus a look at how your competitors are showing up for the same questions.

What an AI answer looks like

When someone asks an AI tool for a recommendation, it writes an answer and often lists the web pages it drew from. Businesses that are described clearly and consistently across the web are easier for these tools to mention.

The audit records whether you appear in answers like this for your customers’ questions, how you are described, and which sources are being used instead.

Illustrative example only. The business, question and answer are made up, not a real AI response.

What the audit covers

Your visibility in AI answers

I run the questions your customers are likely to ask through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, and record whether your business is mentioned, linked to, or left out, and what is said about it.

Competitor snapshots

The same questions are checked for a handful of your competitors, so you can see who is being recommended instead of you and what they have in place that you don’t.

Sources and content

AI tools draw on web pages, reviews, directories and press coverage. I look at which sources come up for your topics, and whether your own pages give clear answers that are easy to quote.

Technical readiness

Checks that search and AI crawlers can reach your important pages, that content isn’t hidden behind scripts or blocked by robots.txt, and that structured data is in place and correct.

Brand and business details

Whether your business name, services, location and contact details are described consistently across your site, Google Business Profile and other listings, so tools aren’t working from mixed signals.

A prioritised fix list

Everything I find is ranked by likely impact and effort and written up simply, so you or your developer know what to do first.

An honest note on guarantees

Nobody can promise that ChatGPT, Gemini or Google will name your business. Answers vary between tools and even from one day to the next. The audit shows where you stand today and focuses on the things you can actually influence.

How it works

  1. A short conversation

We talk about your business, your customers, the questions they ask and who you compete with.

  2. The checks

I test those questions across the AI tools, review your site and the sources AI answers rely on, and look at your competitors.

  3. Your audit and next steps

You receive the findings and a prioritised fix list, written so you don’t need to be an SEO to follow it. If you’d like help putting the fixes in place, I can do that, or work with your developer or agency.

Who it’s for

UK businesses with a website that depend on being found online: local and professional services, online shops, and creative or marketing agencies that want a technical partner for their clients.

It’s especially useful if customers already find you through Google and you want to know whether that’s carrying over to AI tools. It builds on good SEO rather than replacing it, so it works best alongside a sound technical and content foundation.
