Local SEO & Google Business Profile

If your customers are nearby, many of them will look on Google Maps and in the local results at the top of the page. Local SEO makes sure your business shows up there, with accurate details and a Google Business Profile that gives people reasons to get in touch.

I help UK businesses set up, tidy up and improve their local presence, from a single shop or clinic to a business with several locations.

What customers see

When someone searches for a service nearby, Google shows a map and a short list of local businesses with their rating, opening hours and contact buttons. Your Google Business Profile is what feeds that listing.

Local SEO is about making that listing accurate, complete and convincing, so more of the people who find you get in touch.

Illustrative example only. The businesses, ratings and map are made up, and this is not a screenshot of Google.

What’s included

Google Business Profile setup and optimisation

Creating or claiming your profile, then getting the basics right: categories, services, description, opening hours, photos, links and attributes. Google Business Profile used to be called Google My Business.

Google Maps and local visibility

A look at how you currently appear for searches like “your service + your town” and “near me”, who is ahead of you, and what is holding your listing back.

Reviews

A simple, sensible way to ask happy customers for reviews, advice on replying to them (including the awkward ones), and checking nothing in your profile is putting people off.

Local citations and listings

Checking that your business name, address and phone number are the same across the directories and listings that matter, and sorting out duplicates or out-of-date entries.

Local pages on your website

Making sure your site clearly says what you do and where you do it, with sensible location and service pages, local keywords and the right structured data.

Tracking

Setting up Google Analytics and Search Console, and using your profile’s own insights, so you can see calls, direction requests and website visits coming from local search.

How it works

  1. Review

I look at your current profile, listings and website, and how you appear locally compared with competitors.

  2. Plan and set up

You get a prioritised list of what to fix and improve, explained simply. I can make the changes to your profile and listings, or hand over clear instructions for you or your team to follow.

  3. Keep it healthy

Local rankings move around, so I can keep an eye on things and help with reviews, updates and new locations over time.

Who it’s for

Any UK business that serves customers in a particular area, such as salons, clinics, shops, restaurants, tradespeople and professional services, as well as businesses with more than one location.

I’m based in Brighton & Hove, but local SEO doesn’t depend on where I am. What matters is where your customers are.
